Now imagine troops on that road suddenly coming under fire from soldiers with a machine gun, rifles and grenades or a mortar hidden from behind this rock barricade. Unseen from your position below.

On a tour of a very small part of General Patton’s Desert Training Center from World War II in the Mojave Desert. The area was chosen by Patton because it very much resembled the terrain and climate of North Africa. Watch the beginning of the 1970 motion picture “Patton” and you will get an idea of the comparison.
