Yellow Not Orange

I received this e-mail blast this morning from Method Seven. They make high end eyewear for pilots. The e-mail is thanking people for being at the Reno Air Races 2022 this past September. What really got my attention is the airplane is our T-6 from the Palm Springs Air Museum. An airplane I know very well and have photographed many times.

For starters, the photograph used by Method Seven is just not very good. It is blurry, flat and the colors are wrong. There is a magenta color cast to everything. But the big miss is the name on the cowling “Heave Ho”. The name is actually yellow not orange. You can see that in my photograph below.

You might think I am being overly critical. However I have learned over the years that if you want to present your company or product as meeting a standard of excellence, it has to carry over in something like this as well. Not using good photographs denigrates your brand. And I will say Method Seven is a quality product. I have eyewear from them myself.
