On this day, July 7th in 1928, sliced bread was first sold, revolutionizing the baking industry! It was promoted as “the greatest forward step in the baking industry since bread was wrapped.” Many of us fondly remember Wonder Bread sandwiches in our lunchboxes. Wonder Bread was one of the first brands to sell sliced bread in 1930, becoming an icon in the process.
