They Aced It!

Huge congratulations to my good friends Dennis Johnson and Hunter Johnson for having their art works selected for the 2015 Artists Council Exhibition at the Palm Springs Art Museum. Dennis for his “17 Reasons” painting and Hunter for his “Official Garage” photograph. As a side note, they are actually not related to each other, and I have other friends not named “Johnson”. Thanks!

Take A Walk On The Wild Side!

Killer Heels” a superb exhibit of high heels and more at the Palm Springs Art Museum. From sexy to kinky to fashion to fun. Did I mention sexy and kinky! Got my attention. There are three video installations as well and they are just incredible! I will be going back again but here are some photographs of a few for now. So much art and craftsmanship in these designs!

First a 2012 Prada Sandal that evokes a Mid-Century Modern car design very appropriate for Palm Springs.

Then a sexy bright red 2012 – 2013 Heel by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Pump 2013 Springs/Summer with gold and clear Swarovski crystals by Nicholas Kirkwood. Behind them, 1959 black pumps by Salvatore Ferragamo worn by Marilyn Monroe.

And for those of you who have not taken that “Walk On That Wild Side”, Lou Reed…

“Artist In Action”

A really big congratulations to my buddy Dennis Johnson. Today at the Palm Springs Art Museum doing a print making demonstration as one of their “Artist In Action” presentations. On the main floor of the museum, a sizable group of people gathered around and listened and watched a demonstration of an art form almost unchanged since the 15th Century. Very Cool!

Here Is Far For Someone Else...

Sometimes we think we must go far to see and photograph interesting people, places and things. I always try to remember that here for me is the far for someone else. Only a few miles away at The Galen and the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden of the Palm Springs Art Museum. “Walk Among The Stars” by Dave McGay 2006. A bronze with patina and paint.
