Expected today, severe geomagnetic storms on Earth resulting from at least five coronal mass ejections (CME). The result will be radio blackouts and high auroral activity. Today, we are celebrating National Shrimp Day! Americans devour more shrimp than any other seafood. When you blend that love for shrimp with another American classic, fast food, you get Fried Shrimp. And when it comes to the nation’s favorite, look no further than Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen! Started in 1972 and now with over 3700 locations worldwide. Popeyes serves up what is called the best tasting fast food fried shrimp.
I just happened to notice that one of my all time favorite restaurants is still using my photograph at the top of their Facebook page. That is 10 years now. It is the view from the bar out onto the patio and Palm Canyon Drive in downtown Palm Springs. Love it!

The third day of very high solar activity. The Sunspot areas have produced a number of X-flares, the highest category, as well as other smaller flares. Active conditions are expected to continue with Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) and high speed solar winds from Coronal holes. The first Saturday in May is World Naked Gardening Day. I didn’t have a photograph that would fit the concept so here is one I created in AI. However I did shoot a photograph of naked gardening tools.
Today, May 2nd is World Tuna Day. Established by the United Nations in 2016, World Tuna Day aims to draw attention to the declining tuna populations worldwide due to overfishing and increased demand. By 2027, the goal is to have tuna fished at sustainable levels, safeguarding not only the future of tuna but also to promote biodiversity conservation.

From this morning, 14 Sunspot regions make this the largest number so far in this Solar Cycle 25. These Sunspots have been throwing off Coronal Mass Ejections combimed with a fast Solar wind are causing strong geomagnetic storms on Earth. This is something I would love to shoot. However it is in my imagination and created in AI. I certainly prefer the reality of my actual photoshoots. It is not the same.

I find this place so very interesting and scenic. The Cholla Cactus Garden in the Pinto Basin of Joshua Tree National Park. The Cholla thrive here becuase of the exact right conditions. Also the stems are too heavy for the wind to carry so they stay right in the area. 04-07-2024
