Landing From The North

Aircraft landing from the North have always been among my favorite for photographs in Palm Springs. The World War II C-47 “What’s Up Doc?”.

The New Reno Air Races?

This is a good view of the airport in Thermal from flying Saturday. It is actually Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport. It is being considered for the new location for the Reno Air Races. 01-06-2024 Thermal California

Red Ferrari

Yes of course I would like to have a red Ferrari. I photographed this one when I saw it at the Redlands Airport a few years ago. It was new then, so perhaps a good used car now.

Bombardier

A striking looking aircraft landing in Palm Springs. A Bombardier BD700. A Thanksgiving visitor. 11-22-2023

US Army Lakota

A US Army Eurocopter UH-72A Lakota from Fort Irwin landing at the airport in Palm Springs. I think they were doing some air work out by the VOR. Then to Atlantic Aviation for fuel. 11-22-2023

Thanksgiving Arrivals

An Alaska Airlines passenger jet, with the University of Washington Basketball team design, landing in Palm Springs for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Runway Salton Sea

The 5,000 ft runway and a hangar at the airport near Salton City at the Salton Sea (KSAS). The airport is owned by Burrtec Waste Industries which operates a nearby landfill. The elevation is -84 ft. From my photo archives.

LAPD Air Support

From my photo archives… A 2000 Eurocopter AS-350B-2 Ecureuil, N221LA flown by the Los Angeles Police Department in 2004. The N number has since been reassigned to another LAPD helicopter, a 2014 Airbus H125.

Stop

There also is no control tower. I guess don’t play on the runway as well. The “airport” at Quartzsite Arizona from a photo excursion.
