Mannequin Muse

My photograph “Mannequin Muse” has been selected for the juried show “COLOR”. Note… This is not AI but an actual photograph. The exhibition is now open at the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert. If you can’t make the Opening Reception Thursday, Oct 10th, 5-7 pm, then come visit the 132 works by the member artists some time during the run of the show from Oct 9 – Nov 10, 2024. The Artists Center is open Wed through Sun from 10 am to 4 pm. More of my work on my website at http://SecondFocus.com Thanks!

Dice at the Galen

At the opening reception for the Artists Council show “Fun+Games” at the Artists Center at the Galen, my photograph “Dice.” This piece is created by infusing dyes into a specially coated 40″x30″ aluminum panel, resulting in a photograph of almost magical luminescence. I’m deeply appreciative of the opportunity to exhibit in the museum-quality setting of the Galen in Palm Desert, California, where the show will be on display through June 30th, 2024. Thanks! Casting Shadows

Very exciting to be in another show at the Artists Center at the Galen. “Casting Shadows: Dimensional Art” opening reception this Thursday, May 16th, from 4-6pm. Yes I have a photograph in the show but with some added pieces to make it “Dimensional”. I won’t tell you what it is but if you come I will introduce you to Monique, the Sushi Chef. The reception is free so stop on by. The Artists Center at the Galen, 72-567 Hwy 111, Palm Desert California. Thanks!

Artists Council Highlight

Very fun to be featured by the Artists Council for May 2024. The Artists Council, in it’s sixth year as an independent organization, was previously part of the prestigious Palm Springs Art Museum. It occupies the award winning Galen Building in Palm Desert California. It is a museum quality facility hosting numerous gallery shows throughout the year. Thank You Artists Council!

The Ace Show

This is fun… My photograph submission has been selected for the juried Artists Council Exhibition (ACE Show) 2024 at the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert California. Previously the Galen was the East Exhibition Facility for the Palm Springs Art Museum. The show will run from February 7 through March 3rd. The ticketed opening reception is Friday February 9th, 5-7PM. It is always a sold out event. I am not showing the photograph online for now. Tickets for the opening reception available here… http://tinyurl.com/2ma7r5n3 Thanks!

In The Lobby

In the past the Artists Council of the Palm Springs Art Museum would have fundraisers selling artworks for $99. Some of which were submitted by very famous people. You never knew what you might get. Here the early crowd waiting to get in at the Riviera Hotel. Palm Springs California

“Featured Artist” Rancho Mirage Art Affaire

Recently I had the great experience of photographing Lauretta Lowell. Lauretta is an incredibly talented artist who will be the “Featured Artist” at the 14th annual Rancho Mirage Art Affaire this weekend. Her art is in mixed media assemblages but she is equally talented in painting and other art genres. But even more, she is an incredible personality who has overcome great tragedy. Read about Lauretta and also see more of the photographs in a feature for Palm Springs Life Magazine, Palm Springs California. Here is the link to that story.. http://tinyurl.com/m9hc5oy Thanks!

A big Thank You to Blanche LeBeau who did a wonderful job of Makeup and Hair Styling. And along with her assistant Emma Mesrobian did so much to help organize the scenes and wardrobe and made it all great fun. Thank You!

“Artist In Action”

A really big congratulations to my buddy Dennis Johnson. Today at the Palm Springs Art Museum doing a print making demonstration as one of their “Artist In Action” presentations. On the main floor of the museum, a sizable group of people gathered around and listened and watched a demonstration of an art form almost unchanged since the 15th Century. Very Cool!

Proximity Cinema

Proximity Cinema

“Proximity Cinema” by Tiffany Trendra. The artist remains silent using proximity and touch and the body as the only point of interface. When the audience touches the screen it reveals a photograph of the artist’s body. The screens relay the most spoken words between men and women such as “Go Ahead” “It’s Ok” “Don’t Worry About It”. Photographed at the Palm Springs Fine Art Festival opening last night.
