B-17 Flying Fortress Flying!

Pretty cool! I was shooting a World War II B-17 Flying Fortress from a Red Tail P-51 Mustang for the Palm Springs Air Museum. It was the famed Tuskegee Airmen in those Red Tails that escorted the B-17 bombers into Germany on some of the most dangerous missions of the war.

The first sections of the video shot on a Fujfilm X-H1 Body with the Fujifilm XF 100-400mm lens. The wider view was from a GoPro Hero 6 Black.

Come on out yourself. Fun photo ops too.. B-17 Flying Fortress at the Palm Springs Air Museum! Saturday and Sunday Oct 13 & 14 from 10am – 1pm for flights and interior tours in the afternoon.

The B-17 From 1935

Yes I get to shoot fun video like this and fly onboard. Watch the video! I really enjoy being the Social Media Manager for the Palm Springs Air Museum and it gives me the opportunity to share some amazing history. The Palm Springs Air Museum, One Of The Best Air Museums In The World – CNN.

July 28, 1935 eighty three years ago, the B-17 Flying Fortress took it’s first flight. The giant four engine bomber that played a pivotal role in World War II and became an iconic symbol of American Air Power.

You can tour the inside the B-17 Flying Fortress “Miss Angela” at the Palm Springs Air Museum. See what it was like to fly a mission from the cockpit, across the bomb bay, to the guns in the back. In one of ¬†four fully air conditioned hangars of almost 100,000 sq ft of aircraft and displays. Great fun and history!

Flying High!

So very fun! Video from my flight on this B-17 Flying Fortress this last Monday. Did you know I am also the photographer for the Palm Springs Air Museum and also now do their social media! How cool is that! And you thought I only photographed guys with muscles in the gym and beautiful women.

Christmas In Palm Springs

So you have those kids in town for Saturday, the day before Christmas. Those kids from about 3 years old to about 103 years old, like me! The weather is rain and wind, so where do you go for a great time indoors? The Palm Springs Air Museum! Two huge hangars filled with beautifully restored aircraft and surrounded by endless displays of memorabilia and history. Flight simulators and even tours inside a huge World War II B-17, four engine bomber. From 10:30 – 12:30 you can even find yourself sitting in the cockpit of an F7F Tigercat. Too much fun which is why I am always shooting photos there! Ho Ho Ho!

The Only Flying B-17 Flying Fortress

The Only Flying B-17 Flying Fortress

There are only ten of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress still flying and here is one of them. The B-17 flew daylight bombing missions over Europe in World War II. It was made famous in many movies but most recently in “Memphis Belle”.

Yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Also flying was the only fully restored B-24 Liberator bomber and the world’s only dual control P-51 Mustang fighter. Both from World War II, now owned and operated by the Collings Foundation.

This is just a preview, I will be posting more photographs and videos in the next few days.
