The “Bunny” View
“Bunny” is the World War II P-51 Mustang fighter. Here dedicated to the famed Tuskegee Airmen and specifically to a true American Hero, Lt. Col. Bob Friend. I had the opportunity on Veterans Day to fly in the World War II B-25 Mitchell bomber “Executive Sweet” with “Bunny” for a commemorative flyby over the Glamis Sand Dunes just South of the Salton Sea. This video over the sand dunes as we flew back to the Palm Springs Air Museum. So very fun! And you can fly too…
Next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17th – 19th, you can fly in this B-25 bomber! You will get to check it out in the air from the tail to the gun positions and gun turret and right to where I was in the nose. How cool is that! A better flight for $425 does not exist! Out of the Palm Springs Air Museum, call 805-377-2106 for info and to reserve your flight! You will Thank me many times over!
Flying In A B-25
Good morning! Video from my flight on Veterans Day in a World War II B-25 Mitchell Bomber. How cool is this! At the Palm Springs Air Museum . You can fly too!
You can catch a ride in “Execute Sweet”, this B-25 Mitchell Bomber too. Sit in the nose and take in the incredible view like nowhere else. Check out the gun turret and gun stations in the back while you are flying. Watch from right behind the pilots seats and imagine what it was like during the War. A better ride for $425 cannot be had ever! Call 805-377-2106 for more info and to make a reservation. At the Palm Springs Air Museum this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17th – 19th. Great fun!
Remember Those Airplane Models
Remember when you were a kid like me building those plastic model airplanes. Now we are old enough to fly in the real ones or at least see them close up. The Palm Springs Air Museum is where you will find me and get the chance to fly too, for tomorrow Veterans Day. Check it out…
Your flight is warming up! Get on board for a flight, Saturday Veterans Day, in this World War II B-25 Mitchell Bomber! Once you are in the air you will get to check out everything from the bombardier seat in the nose to the gun turret and even looking over the pilot’s shoulder. Sure beats sitting in some economy seat on your least favorite airline with a better spent only $425 to kept it fueled and mission ready! Call 805-377-2106 (please leave a message and you will be called right back). You can also fly on Sunday and next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What a great opportunity!
For Veterans Day right here at the Air Museum, flight demonstrations going on all day. You will see our P-51 Mustang ‘Bunny” in the air along with our C-47 “What’s Up Doc”? and our T-28 Trojan. There will be a special appearance by a flight of six T-34 trainers too. You can also fly in a World War II Stearman Biplane trainer for only $175!
Not to be missed! With us will be a very very special guest… Tuskegee Airmen Lt. Col. Bob Friend. A wonderful opportunity to meet and shake the hand of this true American Hero.

Also we are dedicating our newly finished Grumman F9F Panther which was the Navy’s first successful carrier based jet fighter. For that honor we will have with us another very special guest, a man who has been called “The Forgotten Hero”, Capt E. Royce Williams! On November 18th, 1952, then Lt. Williams in a carrier based engagement of the Korean War shot down four MiG-15s. Forty years later it was revealed that all four were flown by Soviet pilots.
There will be food and birthday cake celebrating the Museum’s 21st Anniversary. So much fun going on! You can reserve your flights on the Stearman Bi Plane trainer by calling us at 760-778-6262 and for the B-25 at 805-377-2106.
Yes you can just come on in and get your flight on either the B-25 and/or Stearman. However there might be a wait for the next available seat. There are only so many seats per flight. So again try to make your phone reservations but come on in no matter what! You will be happy you did! Thanks!

War Bird Flyover
Shooting video from the backseat of the Palm Springs Air Museum T-28 Trojan. Very Fun!
On the way last Saturday morning for a flyover at Veterans Memorial Park in Coachella. Our C-47 “What’s Up Doc?”, our P-51 Mustang “Bunny” and from the Commemorative Air Force in Camarillo, an F6F Hellcat.
Lots more flying coming up at the Air Museum on Veterans Day Nov 11th and for the Craft Beer Festival “Props & Hops” on Nov 18th. Check it all out at the Museum Events page at https://goo.gl/oFKfQN
Flying The NF-104
It is really fun getting to do these video tours of aircraft for the Palm Springs Air Museum. I personally learn so very much and get to chat with these incredible people! You must watch this one!
Imagine what it was like as here USAF Colonel (ret) Bob Lilac tells us about the real crash of Chuck Yeager in the NF-104 as depicted in the movie “The Right Stuff”. And then about Bob’s own flight in what he describes as “basically a bullet” “riding on this 6,000 pound thrust rocket”!
Radial Engine Concert
To many, the sound of radial engines is a concert! The other day at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Doing a run up on “What’s Up Doc?”, our World War II C-47. The props just came back from being balanced and re-installed. You just can’t get enough of those radial engines!
Golf Cart Parade Flyover
Not often I get to shoot video from the backseat of a T-28 Trojan on the way to do a flyover at a Golf Cart Parade! But not just any Golf Cart Parade; it was the 53rd Annual Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade with 25,000 spectators along the parade route. How fun is that! For the Palm Springs Air Museum. Thanks!
Spitfire
A few minutes video tour I did with Mick Dawson at the Palm Springs Air Museum where I learned some really interesting things about this Supermarine Spitfire. This was even the Spitfire that Ben Affleck “flew” in the movie “Pearl Harbor”. Check it out!
Yes You Can Fly!
Yes you can fly! Flying season starts on Saturday November 4th! Take to the skies in a classic and beautiful Boeing Stearman biplane trainer. The military training aircraft of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Featured Reno Air Races Story
Great fun! My photographs and story about our trip racing at the Reno Air Races with the Palm Springs Air Museum…
A big feature about our trip to the Reno Air Races racing “Bunny” our P-51 Mustang, just a few weeks ago. In the October issue of our Palm Springs Air Museum Member Newsletter “The Beacon”. Always good stories and history in “The Beacon” and upcoming events. So if you are not a Member yet, please join us and you can get your copy every month in the mail too! Thanks!
Lesley Zerebny Memorial Softball Game
The Palm Springs Air Museum was honored to have opened the Lesley Zerebny Memorial Softball Game at sunset last night, Sunday at Big League Dreams Sports Park with a flyby of our World War II C-47 “What’s Up Doc”. I was there to photograph the moment.
Apple Valley Airshow
At the Apple Valley Airshow on last Saturday with the Palm Springs Air Museum. I flew there and back in our P-51 Mustang “Bunny” and our T-28 Trojan was there too. I also get to photograph other airplanes!
From The Cockpit
Yesterday morning in the Palm Springs Air Museum, World War II C-47 “What’s Up Doc?”. Headed out through Banning Pass over the wind farms headed to Brackett Field in La Verne. Great fun flying in this big bird that actually flew in the Berlin Airlift. “Like” the Air Museum Facebook page to watch for when you can fly with us too! Thanks!
Squirt VIII
When I get to do these interviews about people and these aircraft, it is a great discovery experience for me too!
Learn about the Palm Springs Air Museum P-47 Thunderbolt “Squirt VIII” with European Hangar Chief Tony Aidukas and then come in tomorrow Saturday, October 7th, and sit in the pilot’s seat yourself! Now that is a great thing to do for a selfie! We have “Open Cockpit” with different aircraft on Saturdays from 10:30 – 12:30. Great Fun! Thanks!
Fun For Us Big Kids Too!
Fun for us big kids too! Yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum, our T-28 Trojan undergoing an engine check following it’s annual inspection. An interesting look without the cowling covering it’s operation and sound. Also a very fun extra surprise for 37 school children touring here at the Air Museum yesterday.
C-47 Coming Home
So very fun! Video I shot of our Palm Springs Air Museum C-47 “What’s Up Doc?” coming home from the weekend at the huge MCAS AirShow Miramar.
Palm Springs To Chino Via SNJ
After ten days at the Reno Championship Air Races, I had flown back in the Palm Springs Air Museum P-51 Mustang “Bunny” with pilot Tom Nightingale. Then we flew in his North American SNJ trainer from Palm Springs to Chino where my car was parked in his hangar. Then a drive home for me back to Palm Springs. What great fun!
