Sambo’s Birthplace

How many of you remember Sambo’s restaurants? At one time they had 1,117 locations. And as many times as I have been to Santa Barbara CA, I had never seen this marker nor known that is where it all started.

A plaque commemorating the first Sambo’s restaurant.

Boulders Delivered

I must say I never imagined that one day I would see boulders getting delivered to my house with a crane. Then they got moved around and placed by crane. Plants going in; irrigation and rock to follow.

Flying With Friends

I really enjoy going flying with friends.

My Office Yesterday

Running the flights all day for the Palm Springs Air Museum.

USAF A-10 “Warthog”

Very exciting this last Saturday to have a United States Air Force A-10II Thunderbolt “Warthog” visit us at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Air Force Association, Palm Springs Chapter, member Col. (ret) Bob Lilac earns a big shout out for making this happen!

A-10 Warthog In Palm Springs

This is your chance to see one close-up! A United States Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthog” will be at the Palm Springs Air Museum this Saturday March 12th.

Arriving approximately 10:00-10:30am and departing 3:00pm. A-10 pilots will hold a briefing from 1:00-2:00pm. You will even get the opportunity to see inside the cockpit from a viewing ramp. Don’t miss out!

C-47 Flight

A check out flight in the World War II C-47 “What’s Up Doc” from the Palm Springs Air Museum today. On the left Daniel Wotring, on the right Steve Johnson and then myself. Somewhat of a repetitive route but we had fun and it sure was a nice day to fly.

In Cambria

The works of folk artist Lauretta Lowell on display in a gallery in Cambria California. With a copy of the feature I photographed of her in Art Patron Magazine.

President’s Day

President’s Day, so how about a video of Air Force One coming in to Palm Springs a few years ago.

Going Around In Bunny

Going around and coming in for a landing in Palm Springs. In the Palm Springs Air Museum P-51D Mustang “Bunny”.

When She Walked In

My buddy Cara Basso. I photographed her along the way for magazine features and print ads. Always reliably late, all eyes were on Cara. As one person said on one shoot with other models and a crew, when Cara walked in… “she just sucked all of the air out of the room”.

We Found Parking

We do get some more not usual visitors for us at the Palm Springs Air Museum. We did find parking for it; special occasion. An Embraer ERJ-135ER.

Perfect Posing

Perfect posing by bodybuilder Dexter Jackson. For a number of years my photographs were used weekly to produce computer wallpapers by Bodybuilding.com.

The Pit At Muscle Beach

One of my all time favorite photographs I have shot at Muscle Beach Venice. I was thinking I have shot tens of thousands of photographs at Muscle Beach, but it is likely well into six digits. Bodybuilder Marc-arthur (Moses) Dautree.

Super Bowl Mustang

This weekend’s Super Bowl LVI will open with an Air Force Heritage Flight led by the P-51 Mustang “Wee Willy II” flown by Steve Hinton. This is Wee Willy as we flew up as a flight of two Mustangs on the way to the Reno Air Races 2021.

Close The Door

Close the door, it’s getting windy in here. Helicopter taking off from the Palm Springs Air Museum.

Watching Airshows

This is a good view for watching an airshow. The P-51 Mustang “Bunny” from the Palm Springs Air Museum.

“Bunny” opens the show doing a flyby of a giant American Flag skydiver at the “Wings Over Camarillo” airshow. “Bunny” is a P-51 Mustang owned by the Palm Springs Air Museum. Dedicated to the “Red Tails” Tuskegee Airmen.
