A Successful Gala
I am honored to write the feature and shoot the photographs..
Our 2018 Annual Gala was a huge success! Special guest, Motion Picture “Top Gun” Commander “Viper” Tom Skerritt punctuated the evening as we honored our Heroes among us.
Our World War II PBY Catalina “Harriet’s Chariot” was dramatically presented in lighting and staging allowing us to announce the beginning of it’s restoration to it’s status of being such a very historic aircraft and part of our Living History here at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

Blue Angels On The Flightline
The precision of the United States Navy Blue Angels even just coming back to the flightline is amazing! At the Naval Air Facility El Centro Airshow this past Saturday. With the Palm Springs Air Museum, we were very happy to have been part of it with our own aircraft too! Thanks!
The Other Four
The Palm Springs Air Museum took four aircraft to the NAF El Centro Airshow this past weekend. These are not them. Took me along too. Good thing I brought a camera (or two)!
The United States Navy Blue Angels! At their opening demonstration for their 2018 flying season. We were very honored to bring our own aircraft to the Naval Air Facility El Centro for this exciting Air Show! And just as excited to bring you a look at our experience in photos and video. Thanks!
Clear To Taxi!
I really do get to do some fun things with the Palm Springs Air Museum! Like fly in warbirds to airshows and then shoot photos and video!
Clear To Taxi! The Blue Angels head on out for their season opening flight demonstration yesterday at NAF El Centro. Truly an overwhelming and incredible display of powerful aircraft and piloting skill.
We travel to airshows with a fleet of our own incredible aircraft to share the Palm Springs Air Museum with those who have not visited with us here at what is “One of the best Air Museums in the World!”.
Watch here and on the Palm Springs Air Museum Facebook Page for more of our weekend at the NAF El Centro Airshow and the Blue Angels! Thanks!
Wow! CF-18 Hornet
This is pretty exciting so I have to share! And I must say it is sometimes really cool being the photographer for the Palm Springs Air Museum!
Arriving approximately 3:30pm on Friday March 2nd right on our ramp! The 150th Canadian Anniversary Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet. Now this is exciting!
This very special aircraft will be with us all day Saturday March 3rd for you to view along with the opportunity to meet it’s pilot, Major Erick O’Connor.
“This incredible Canada 150 CF-18 Hornet is a shining example of the teamwork and professionalism that is embodied by the men and women of the RCAF,” said Major-General Christian Drouin, Commander, 1 Canadian Air Division/Canadian NORAD Region, “and is just one of the many ways that the men and women of the RCAF are working to honour their rich heritage, and commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada.”
Also on Saturday we have “Open Cockpit”, two programs, a flight demonstration with the De Havilland Beaver – Pride Of The Bush Pilots and even entertainment from 12 – 1 with our own Palm Springs Air Museum Bagpipe Band!
The CF-18 Hornet will be departing on Sunday March 4th. However we do not have a specific time for that as of now.
Also through the weekend, we will have flights available on our own World War II Paratrooper C-47 and our P-51 Mustang “Bunny”. Call 760-778-6262 for more info. Thanks!

Let’s raise a beer to that!

A little of the excitement of what it is like flying in the iconic World War II fighter airplane, the P-51 Mustang. This one is “Bunny” for the Palm Springs Air Museum. More great video with a GoPro.

My Rotating Beacon Hat Works!
Daffy At War…
This is really a wonderful fun exhibit at the Palm Springs Air Museum. I know, I got to photograph many of the pieces for the commercials and ads and magazine features. Tonight (Friday at 6) is the reception. So come on out and join me for it! Here are the details…
– Many of us as children grew up watching Daffy Duck, Donald Duck, Tom and Jerry, and the rest of the Warner Brothers, MGM and Walt Disney cartoons. These fond memories stay with us as adults. But how many of us now know that these children’s cartoon characters played an integral role in boosting morale during World War II? You can see your beloved cartoon characters in a new exciting exhibit here at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
– For an in-depth look at the exhibit, join us in welcoming the two owners of the collections that make up Wartime Designs: the Insignia Art of World War II. Tonight Friday, December 1 at 6 PM, a reception Meet and Greet about this exhibit takes place inside the Pacific Hangar at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
– This is really a wonderful and incredible exhibit that you will truly want to experience, and learning more about it from those who have brought it to us adds so much more dimension!
– Tickets are $15 for Air Museum members and $20 for non-members paid in advance. Tickets at the door are $25. To RSVP, call Carol at (760) 482-1836. Thank You!

For A 102 Year Old Veteran
Yes it is great fun to be flying with the Palm Springs Air Museum as the photographer and doing the social media. But getting to share doing something for all the right reasons is really special. A flyover for the 102nd birthday of a World War II Veteran and POW. More info below…
On the way to do a flyby to celebrate the 102nd birthday of Veteran Mike Kovich in Desert Hot Springs last Saturday. Mike was a top gunner in a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber in World War II. On the very first mission to bomb Berlin his plane was shot down and he was captured. He spent 13 months as a POW. Very exciting for us to be able to fly on by with our P-51 Mustang “Bunny” and our T-28 Trojan! Thank You to VFW Post 1534 for sharing Mike’s birthday with us! Visit with Mike in his interview with KESQ News here at https://goo.gl/yZVW2c Thanks!
