National Raisin Day

πŸŽ‰ Happy National Raisin Day! πŸŽ‰ Did you know this tasty treat has been celebrated since 1909? That’s over a century of raisin appreciation! πŸ‡

Raisins have a rich history, originating in Persia and Egypt around 2000 B.C. They quickly became beloved in Europe, winning over the hearts (and taste buds) of Romans and Greeks alike. Fast forward to today, and California stands as the producer of half of the world’s raisins! 🌟

And while you’re indulging in the celebration, why not check out more of my food photographs on my freshly redesigned website? It’s been completely revamped for the first time in 20 years! Visit http://SecondFocus.com. Thanks for your support! πŸ“ΈπŸ΄

National Camera Day

πŸ“Έ Happy National Camera Day! πŸ“Έ Today, we celebrate the incredible device that captures memories, moments, and magic in our lives. From vintage classics to cutting-edge technology, the camera has been an integral part of human expression and storytelling.

This is the iconic Rolleiflex TLR. A camera used by many legendary photographers of the past and still coveted by some today.

I photographed this Rolleiflex using modern innovation – a Hasselblad X1D11 50c camera paired with the Broncolor F160 LED monolight. Thinking about it; it is a fusion of tradition and innovation.

Let me also announce the first major change to my website in 20 years. Head over to http://SecondFocus.com to take a look. Stay tuned as I’ll be adding much more, so be sure to visit often. Thank you for your continued support! 🌟πŸ–₯️ #NationalCameraDay #Photography #Rolleiflex #Hasselblad #Broncolor #SecondFocus #CameraWest

National Jelly Bean Day

Jelly Beans likley date back to 1861. This is 3lbs of them. They are perhaps the most consumed candy in the USA. Go to FoodArtPhotos.com to see more of my photographs of fast food, snack food, foods of our American experience and more. Keep watching for your favorites.

Cessna Pilot AI

My idea of a Cessna pilot. Created in AI. A friend of mine tried creating a woman pilot and it did not work out. So I gave it a try. I think it works. Although I can see an error.

Walking The Street After

This is something I would love to shoot. However it is in my imagination and created in AI. I certainly prefer the reality of my actual photoshoots. It is not the same.

Animal Crackers

Here it is! National Animal Crackers Day, April 18th. The original manufacturer Stauffer’s Biscuit Company produced the first batch in 1871 in York, Pennsylvania. Stauffer’s is still making them and here they are.

My food photographs are at http://FoodArtPhotos.com Snack foods, fast foods, foods from our American experience and more. Photographed much differently than you might expect. Keep checking back to see your favorites. I will be adding much more. Thanks!

ZUMAland Featured

Very excited to be featured on the blog for ZUMA Press. One of my photographs of the Aluminaire House at the Palm Springs Art Museum on CNN. ZUMA is the largest independent press and wire agency in the world. April 15 2024

I find this place so very interesting and scenic. The Cholla Cactus Garden in the Pinto Basin of Joshua Tree National Park. The Cholla thrive here becuase of the exact right conditions. Also the stems are too heavy for the wind to carry so they stay right in the area. 04-07-2024

My Eclipse On ZUMA

Excited to see my photograph of today’s Solar Eclipse on the front page of the ZUMA Press website. Zuma is the largest independent press agency in the world. Only a partial Solar Eclipse here in Southern California. 04-08-2024 Palm Springs

Solar Eclipse 04-08-2024

30,000 People Per Month

Have you ever visited my website? https://www.secondfocus.com It is a site created on liveBooks which I subscribed to at least 20 years ago. liveBooks became the de facto standard for professional photography. I was one of the very first to use them. Likely now I am the longest running photographer on their huge platform. It is visited by some 30,000 people per month. I will be making some changes to it in the next few weeks to exhibit my new projects. But for now, take a look and Thank You! https://www.secondfocus.com

Chainmaille Cape

A beautiful woman wearing a chainmaille cape walking on a city pedestrian bridge. Created in AI. Not the same as photographing a woman in chainmaille as I have been doing a few times.

Not AI

I might try out and explore AI, but when I take a camera with me, it is my 1950’s Leica IIIf film camera.

SpaceX Launch Video

Visible over Palm Springs last night, the launch of a reusable, 2 stage Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base. Placing 22 Starlink satellites in orbit for SpaceX. April 1 2024

Chess And Wine

I have decided to learn to play chess and drink wine at the same time. As long as my instructor is her at the sidewalk cafe in Paris. Or anywhere actually. All AI generated.

Fashion Behind The Scenes – A.I.

A studio fashion photoshoot. However created in AI. The tell-tale sign that I am not the photographer in the scene… I don’t have that much hair on my head.

AR3615 Even Larger

Sunspot Region AR3615 in the last 24hrs has increased in size 50% and now made up of 63 individual Sunspots. It is 3,360 million square kilometers Almost 20 times the size of the Earth. It continues to generate flares and geo-magnetic storms. March 25 2024 Palm Springs California
