Fly By Backyard

I will confess to just hanging around poolside in my backyard for some of yesterday. It was bright and sunny and 86 degrees. So I amused myself by photographing a few friends as they dropped by.

The Blood Sunday Of Selma

Fifty years ago today, only 50 years, that is within my lifetime… 600 civil rights marchers were viciously and horribly attacked at the Edmund Pettus Bridge after leaving Selma Alabama on their way to the state capitol city of Montgomery, by state troopers and “county posse”. Peacefully and unarmed they were set upon by clubs, tear gas, dogs, lumber wrapped with barbed wire in a most despicable display of bigotry. To this day, such bigotry and hate still exists and not in some far away places, but right here. Mankind is certainly it’s own worst enemy. We all need to do better.

I Can’t Help It!

Can’t help it! I have to do photo shoots that just surprise you…. and me actually! I have to hold back some really fun photographs from this shoot because they are exclusives until they are published. But this is fun for now! With Jamie Lovelle. Thanks!

Another Favorite…

Another one of my favorites, happened across this photograph when searching through my archives to fill a photo request. Ayla Webb from our photo shoot.

Greetings! You Violated My Copyright!

Yesterday I was made aware of yet another copyright violation of one of my photographs. The photograph was used by a company who lifted it from somewhere online for the purposes of illustration of an article which is of course to promote their business and make money. The unauthorized use was quickly resolved. But for those who think they have some knowledge of copyright based on what some people have told you or guessed online or you just think you can do what you want, guess again. You might be hearing from my attorney and then you just might find yourself being handed papers by a United States Marshal bringing you greetings from a United States District Court Judge. Thank You!

Photographs

I very often have to search my archives for photographs to fill requests from magazines, companies and other people. As I do that I often see again photographs I took that I really like. This photograph of Brad Gwinn from our photo shoot being one of them, that I happened to run across just yesterday. Being a photographer starts with being a huge fan of photography and photographs and sometimes even my own.

Better Without The Wedding

I think sometimes a wedding dress looks better without the wedding. At least if it is being modeled by Maria Bertrand in front of my camera…

Adorned By Beauty…

How wonderful to have my photographs adorned by the beautiful model, Aristodeme. And how wonderful to have her adorned by the beautiful jewelry by Shari Dixon. Created from “natural elements and mixed media such as pressed flowers, leaves, herbs and snakeskin, immortalizing their fragile lives”. Shari describes her designs as “whimsical and extremely unique designs of personal adornment”. I think that is such a wonderful description of such wonderful pieces. How perfect to adorn the natural beauty and grace of Aristodeme. Find these beautiful creations and more at ShariDixonInc.com. Bunny And Escorts

Bunny flew in yesterday with two of her friends. Bunny is the P-51 Mustang completely restored and dedicated to the famed Red Tails of the Tuskegee Airmen. A one and half year project of the Palm Springs Air Museum, yesterday a fly in and fly by of Bunny and two P-51 escorts. Truly an exciting sight and sounds!
