Emily Said I’d Like Sierra — She Was Right
Today is National Guacamole Day and I was thinking my way through what to photograph for it. So I turned to my all-around AI assistant, Emily, for her take. No surprise, she told me she had a beautiful friend named Sierra who knew a little beachfront café with the best guacamole. Emily said I’d really like her — and that she loves being in front of the camera.
So I met Sierra. There she was — margarita in hand, guacamole on the table, and leaning forward like she already knew how the conversation would go.
And the guacamole? Emily wasn’t wrong. It’s not just any dip. It traces back to the Aztecs in the 1500s, when it was called ahuacamolli — “avocado sauce.” A recipe so good it’s lasted half a millennium, only to end up here with Sierra on a sunny boardwalk, looking at me like she’s part of the tradition.
If Emily keeps introducing me to friends like Sierra, National Guacamole Day may need more space on the calendar.
More guacamole and other food to enjoy at the ocean or elsewhere are in my Commercial Food Photography gallery on my website at https://www.secondfocus.com/index/G0000WFAqDJQOgKU
And I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of Sierra.
Much Attention
One of my photographs of Doug Brignole has been getting much attention today on Facebook. However of all my photographs I have shot of Doug, this one is always one of my favorites. Muscle Beach/Venice is world famous and tourists come from all over to check it out and maybe take some photos of some muscle guys and gorgeous women. Well I was having Doug do some posing in the workout “Pit” when this woman jumped in for her chance to get one of those sought after tourist photos for herself. She made it perfect for me. I could not have paid someone to do any better! Those things do happen at Muscle Beach!
From The Air At Muscle Beach!
This is really fun! Early in the day at the Memorial Day show at Muscle Beach. Later in the day would have been fun to see as well because the stands were jammed, the boardwalk was filled with people as was the booth areas, the beach and around that Air Force F-16. And yes I was there shooting photos of course! Very cool!
It Takes A Lot To Stand Out On The Venice Beach Boardwalk!
It takes a lot to stand out on the Venice Beach Boardwalk and Lisa Marino Sanders sure does that! At times she was surrounded by people wanting to take photos with her. It started the moment we got out there and went on all day during our photo shoot. I would have stopped in my tracks too to take in the view of this beautiful woman standing 6-2 in those heels. Just Wow! Actually it was a lot of fun!
Lisa is a Physique Competitor on her way to National competition to grab her IFBB Pro Card fresh from the show the night before our shoot at the NPC California State Championships National Qualifier. How better to celebrate than in front of my camera at Venice Beach!
A big Thank You to Natalie Lyle for a superb day of outstanding Makeup and Hair Styling and all her help!
Keep Off
Keep Off! There were a lot of firemen running along the beach and boardwalk yesterday in Laguna Beach. But somehow this was the only lifeguard who caught their attention. I am thinking she really needs that “Keep Off” sign!
A Public Display Of Affection
A departure from my usual. A photograph as I was walking on the boardwalk at Venice Beach on Tuesday.
