Not to be confused with National Pickle Day, today May 16th is International Pickle Day. We really find them on everything, but I hope that excludes Pizza. The most popular is the Dill Pickle. Today May 16th is National BBQ Day. Why it was created to sometimes be on a weekday instead of a Sunday makes no sense to me. But I didn’t do it. My photo for National Totally Chipotle Day, celebrated in tandem with Cinco de Mayo. Front and center is a creation from Chipotle, the famed fast-casual chain with 3,200 locations. It’s their pièce de résistance, the Carnitas Burrito. A tribute to the smoky, dried jalapeño pepper that lends its name to this occasion.

I photographed this Rolleiflex using modern innovation – a Hasselblad X1D11 50c camera paired with the Broncolor F160 LED monolight. Thinking about it; it is a fusion of tradition and innovation.

I was so very pleased to have found Nova. Totally random but for some reason I remembered her. I collect these Hasselblad books. Nova Published In Hasselblad Victor Photography Book One. Original photograph by Damon Loble. Nova was very excited to see this. She had never seen it before.
From time to time I have been asked to do lighting classes on photographing models and using lighting modifiers. I doubt if my ideas would get me any manufacturer backing. However some photographers might sign up. What do you think?

The Salton Sea is 15 miles wide and 35 miles long. With so much shoreline and interesting places, there is always something wonderful to photograph. By example I happened to find this random model on a pole at an abandoned gas station and store.
Well maybe not so random. Nora from NYC came out and shot with me for the day all around the Salton Sea. Makeup and Hair Styling and Styling by the Estee Lauder featured artist Blanche LeBeau.
