Flying Craft Beer Tasting

The DC-3 “Flabob Express” rolling out to the runway from the Palm Springs Air Museum. You could have been onboard Saturday tasting craft beers during your flight around Palm Springs. How fun is that!

DC-3 Backseat Driver

Doing some backseat driving in a DC-3. The “Flabob Express” yesterday flying out of the Palm Springs Air Museum. Can you believe there was craft beer tasting going on behind me! Too fun!

I See…

Joanna Johnson in our photo shoot. When I see a fitness person, I see them differently than most people. One of the reasons that a photographer who does not know fitness and bodybuilding just will not get it.

I see that even thought she is not flexing Joanna has… firm and shapely quads in her upper legs, defined and muscled triceps, worked out shoulders with great definition and separation leading to full biceps, traps that have real muscle and giving her a taper and powerful look, solid and lean abs, a back with definition. And without question… well let’s just say, she looks really good in tight red shorts.

Photographed at World Gym, Palm Desert, California. That is where you will find Joanna as a personal fitness trainer. If you are looking to build your body and be a better you, Joanna might be the trainer for you. I have photographic proof of it right here!

Photo shoot notes… Wonderful Makeup and Hair Styling by Natalie Lyle. Photographed with a Hasselblad digital camera system. Lighting with a Broncolor Move 1200L pack and the Broncolor Para 133 reflector. The people and the gear, nothing but the best!

B-25 Mitchell Bomber

The B-25 “Mitchell” was the bomber flown off the aircraft carrier USS Hornet on April 18, 1942 for a bombing mission over Tokyo. It was intended to show that the USA could project power across the oceans and that Japan was vulnerable to an air attack. The mission was also retaliation for the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

This is a B-25J version which entered service in early 1945. It was used as a crew trainer and transport. Interestingly it appears in the 1970 movie “Catch 22” as “Vestal Virgin”. Now here flying out of the Palm Springs Air Museum on it’s tour schedule. The sound of those engines starting up is worth the visit all by itself!

The World War II P-51 Mustang “Bunny” at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Restored to the configuration of the famed Tuskegee Airmen and dedicated to Lt. Col. Bob Friend. Piloted by Tom Nightingale.

Sometimes They Never Returned

Sometimes they never returned from their missions. This bronze 1940’s flight jacket at the Palm Springs Air Museum always reminds me of that.

Today is the day we remember and honor all Veterans. They are the men and women to whom the Nation and the World turns to for so very many reasons in war and peace.

Join me tonight and tomorrow for programs at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Moments of honor but also fun and excitement as planes from our history fly overhead. Thanks! Check it all out at http://palmspringsairmuseum.org

Yes We’re Open

If I had a storefront business, in the morning I would come to work and put my roll down open sign in the front window. I think it would really be a big improvement in most downtown business areas.

One of my absolute favorite models, Aristodeme. Hasselblad digital camera system and Broncolor lighting. Good stuff!

BTS

BTS, that means Behind The Scenes. I thought you might want to see what goes on in a few  snapshot photos. The photo shoot with a worked out and wonderful personal trainer, Joanna Johnson. The location is World Gym in Palm Desert California. The tall blonde, also very worked out, is my long time Makeup and Hair Stylist Natalie Lyle. She is as well, a marvel with posing and wardrobe.

The camera is Hasselblad digital. My lighting is Broncolor with the Para 133 reflector with the Move 1200L pack. Even the light stand is important, it is a Matthews roller stand. Can’t have things breaking and falling over, despite carrying a multi-million dollar insurance policy.  I make it an important point to use only the best gear. I want everything to work right and the best every time. Thanks!

By the way, these photos were shot by my very able assistant Clyde Sawyer. The guy who make sure that it all goes right from loading the car to setting it up to taking it down. Gets it all done!

Gym Motivator!

That is what you call Joanna Johnson, a Gym Motivator! And not just my words, others around World Gym in Palm Desert yesterday, men and women, walked up and congratulated her on the way she has worked so hard to build her body. Joanna drives the goals and admiration of others to be a better self. Go visit her, Joanna is a trainer there and she can be your Gym Motivator too!

This photograph was just a quick example I picked out from our photo shoot because it is so fun. Joanna’s first professional photo shoot, she warmed up and gave me some of her own posing. Good job!

Photo shoot notes… Makeup and Hair Styling by another gym motivator herself, Natalie Lyle. Hasselblad digital camera system. Lighting by Broncolor with the Broncolor Para 133 reflector and Move 1200L pack. Only the best!

Don’t Mess Up

If I am giving first credit to the success of any of my photographs, I owe it to the extraordinary men and women I have had in front of my cameras. There is little question I have had some of the most amazing people as models. And here the most breathtaking elegant ballet dancer Viktoria in this behind the scenes photograph from our photo shoot.

Yes I am lucky to have so much space available to realize most of what I want to do, from studio shooting to my outdoor pool and gardens. Close by I have even larger studio space available, the great outdoors, the Salton Sea and even vintage aircraft.

Next is what I and many others consider the finest equipment available. Hasselblad digital camera equipment and Broncolor lighting.

What is left for me is to stage the photographs I have in the back of my mind, and more important than anything else, each and every time, don’t mess up. Thanks!
