A Moment Of Tranquility Going Into Monday…
A moment of tranquility going into Monday. “Seated Thinking Woman” by Felipe Castaneda, 1979 bronze. Photographed yesterday at The Galen and the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden of the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Here Is Far For Someone Else…
Sometimes we think we must go far to see and photograph interesting people, places and things. I always try to remember that here for me is the far for someone else. Only a few miles away at The Galen and the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden of the Palm Springs Art Museum. “Walk Among The Stars” by Dave McGay 2006. A bronze with patina and paint.
Are You Ready To Climb In?
Are you ready to climb in? A United States Navy SNJ-5 training aircraft which first flew under the designation NA-16 in April 1st in 1935. Later it became more known as the AT-6 Texan. Interestingly 20 of the AT-6 Texans were flown by the Syrian Air Force against Israel in 1948. This Navy version yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
Bearcat Fast & Low!
From yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum, here is that Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat fast and low over the runway at the Palm Springs Airport.
Bearcat Waking Up!
A Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat starting up and taxis out from the Palm Springs Air Museum on March 29, 2014. The Bearcat was developed during World War II but did not see service until the French Indochina War (Vietnam 1946-1954). The Bearcat is flown in air racing. One named the “Rare Bear” set the 3 km World Speed Record for piston-driven aircraft (528.33 mph/850.26 km/h) in 1989, and a new time-to-climb record (3,000 m in 91.9 seconds (6,425.9 fpm), set in 1972. Fast, loud and powerful, watch this thing start up!
An Iron Man Magazine Rising Star
Outstanding! I put this guy in front of my camera because I was sure he would be going places in our world of bodybuilding and fitness. Lonnie Teper in his current “Rising Stars” column of IRON MAN MAGAZINE was sure of it too. And if Lonnie says he is a “Rising Star” that makes it for real! Congratulations to Travis Ely!
The Pirelli Calendar by Herb Ritts
I have always been a huge admirer of the iconic Pirelli Calendar. And as well I hold in great admiration the work of photographer Herb Ritts. So I am greatly excited to come into possession of an original 1994 Pirelli Calendar photographed by Herb Ritts courtesy of the Herb Ritts Foundation.
A superb 18″x24″ display of photographs of super models Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, Kate Moss and Karen Alexander; “In Praise Of Women”.
Not familiar with the Pirelli Calendar, where have you been! Learn more here…

She Started An Earthquake In Her Photo Shoot!
The wonderful and popular Raechelle Chase from New Zealand in front of my cameras in Palm Springs. We had to put this iconic woman in an iconic setting! IFBB Figure Professional, writer, gym owner, trainer, entrepreneur, and Mom, Raechelle is one very special woman. Tough too, in our photo shoot she was buffeted by gale force winds and an earthquake. A lifetime memorable photo shoot was had by all!
“Dominate” In The Gym!
She is incredibly beautiful, has wonderful sense of humor, can be goofy, has a rocking body, great fun to be with, lifts iron, eats healthy and can do it all so well in front of my camera. Someone the other morning asked if I was going to retire. I said from what!!
Ashley Owens Gulina from our photo shoot. The wonderful Makeup and Hair Styling by Natalie Lyle. And a great gym! The Power Of Fitness in Palm Desert California. And a special Thank You for Dennis Dennis BodyWear for the great gym wear!

Two of my buddies, cameras in hand, on a Route 66 excursion with me. A 14 hour and 409 mile round trip. Walking the grounds of the Goffs Schoolhouse of the Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association.
Eduardo Carriazo at Archangel Gallery
An incredible sculpture by my friend, artist Eduardo Carriazo. From his showing currently at the Archangel Gallery in Palm Springs. One of his many pieces of his collection on display “Heresy and Inquisitions, what is true?”. Archangel Gallery has quickly become a must visit stop for the artwork and art events in Palm Springs. A wonderful space representing superb artists.
Mystery Military Jet
It came out of nowhere and did one more pass at high speed. I barely caught it with my camera. Leaving the Palm Springs Airport right after the T-28 flight demonstration yesterday. The Palm Springs Air Museum did not even know about the jet or it’s owner. It had been seen only once before after a previous event at the Air Museum. Do any of you know anything about it?
T-28 Leaving The Runway
Another look at the U.S. Navy T-28B leaving the runway for a flight demonstration. Yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
T-28
A U.S. Navy T-28B returning to the Palm Springs Air Museum after a flight demonstration yesterday. The T-28 saw service primarily as trainer starting in the 1950’s into the 1980’s. It is a very impressive aircraft to see, and hear, flying.
They Come From All Over To Travel Route 66
They come from all over to travel Route 66! We did yesterday, 409 miles and 14 hours round trip. This mural was on the side of a gas station in Needles, California. Great fun!
Seen Better Times…
Seen better times. I find dilapidated things like this so very interesting through my camera.
Heidi Cannon Loving Her Photos We Shot
Thanks Heidi Cannon Wbff Pro! I am so very happy you are loving the photos we did!
On This Day 1941, The Tuskegee Airmen…
It was on this day, March 19th in 1941 that the 99th Pursuit Squadron was activated at Chanute Field in Rantoul, Illinois. These enlisted men became the core of other “black” squadrons who went on to be known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
It was my honor to photograph members of the Tuskegee Airmen honored on Memorial Day 2012 at world famous Muscle Beach. From left to right… Levi Thornhill, Buford Johnson, Heather Clay, Brig. Gen. Roger W. Teague, Edward Tillman, and Ted Lumplin.
The Girl In Charge Turned 14 Today!
The head of the household turned 14 today and she still runs everything with an iron growl. Lola…
Ashley Is A Good Reason To Go To The Gym!
And your excuse for not going to the gym was? Ashley Owens Gulina is a good excuse to go to the gym! This time for me to shoot some photographs, maybe for others to work out extra long to just look at her!
Actually a photograph like this in the gym has a lot of parts. First of course there is Ashley. The woman is just beautiful! Next is my Makeup and Hair Stylist Natalie Lyle. Look at the wonderful work she did with Ashley! And Natalie is one hot beautiful woman herself. The gym owner thought I had brought two models not knowing Natalie was the MUA on the shoot. But as Natalie said yesterday “I love doing makeup!”.
Next a big Thanks to Joe Norton, the owner of Power Of Fitness in Palm Desert California. A big beautiful spacious gym with lots of new equipment and a great fun atmosphere. It is really a great gym to workout and just be there!
Then there is my assistant Clyde Sawyer who carries everything, moves the lights, works as my portable voice operated reflection blocker and generally makes it all work.
Ok so now go back to looking at Ashley and catch up with her at her gym up in Rancho Cucamonga or see who else might be showing up at Power of Fitness with me! Thanks!

Muscle Beach 2014
The Summer shows at Muscle Beach. The only real Muscle Beach shows at the place “Where Muscles Were Born”! And the 2014 banner with my photographs of two Muscle Beach favorites of muscle and beauty, even better!
The World’s Only FLYING WWII PB4Y Patrol Bomber
The World’s Only FLYING Privateer PB4Y Patrol Bomber (Navy variant of the B-24 Heavy Bomber) coming in to the Palm Springs Air Museum yesterday. I had to see it and take photos for sure!
