The Only Flying B-24J In The World
The only restored flying B-24J in the world taking off from the Palm Springs Airport. Owned and operated by the Collings Foundation flying last weekend for the Palm Springs Air Museum, the Consolidated B-24 Liberator flew during World War II in the Pacific and Europe. I find it very exciting to point my camera at these tremendously fascinating and historic aircraft.
Are You Looking At Me?
Are you looking at me? Maybe to be in one of my photo shoots or have me photograph a magazine feature or your advertising. It is getting very busy so please send me a note to my e-mail to SecondFocus@mac.com. Let’s do this! Thanks!
Tachevah From The Producers Of Coachella
Last night at Tachevah, a Palm Springs Block Party. Great fun! A middle of the week event put on by the producers of the huge Coachella music festival right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs.
The Only Flying B-17 Flying Fortress
There are only ten of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress still flying and here is one of them. The B-17 flew daylight bombing missions over Europe in World War II. It was made famous in many movies but most recently in “Memphis Belle”.
Yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Also flying was the only fully restored B-24 Liberator bomber and the world’s only dual control P-51 Mustang fighter. Both from World War II, now owned and operated by the Collings Foundation.
This is just a preview, I will be posting more photographs and videos in the next few days.
A Public Display Of Affection
A departure from my usual. A photograph as I was walking on the boardwalk at Venice Beach on Tuesday.
You Have To Work Those Legs – I Love Selfies!
I Love Seflies! And here is one from my buddy Jake Sawyer. You got to work those legs in the gym and Jake knows that it is part of a balanced physique that a lot of people avoid working out. Check out Jake on his Facebook page and see how he does it for himself and his clients. Jake has put many of clients in the top 5 in competitions and he himself has walked away with many a trophy, and appeared in lots of bodybuilding and fitness magazines. And in front of my cameras.
I invite you to send me your selfies and I will show you off here on my Blog and on my Facebook pages. Girls and guys, whatever you want to send. In the gym, showing off the hard work you have put in, at the pool, just having fun. Anything a little too edgy for Facebook will go on my Blog and I will safely share it on Facebook. You don’t have to have ever done a photo shoot with me or even met me in person. It will also be a great way for me to see you and talk about photo shoots. Let’s do this, it’s all fun!
You must send me the selfie as a message to my e-mail at SecondFocus@mac.com or on Facebook messenger. I will say that I might have to pick and choose to make it manageable and hold some or change when I decide to post them for one reason or another. Thanks!
“Live The Life You Have”
“Live The Life You Have” – very good words painted on a wonderful hidden and well defined canvas! Cortney Solomon just did her first figure competition on stage at the NPC Grand Prix in Culver City California. Then in front of my cameras at the Power of Fitness Gym in Palm Desert CA. We had just too much fun and I really enjoyed getting in some extra unexpected reading while I was there!

A Peanuts Route 66
Weekends and nice weather. Makes me think of A Route 66 photo excursion. A trip a month ago and a Route 66 wall mural in Needles California. Sure makes a drab beige wall in the middle of town a lot more fun!
Sexy & Fit Selfie!
Sexy and fit, a great selfie! Just the best and so much fun from my buddy Jessica Jacobsen! A personal trainer who is devoted to her own fitness and the fitness of her clients. You can visit her Facebook page because I am thinking now more of you want to train with her too!

I Love Selfies!
I love ‘selfies”, I think they are great fun! So to kick off my showing off your selfies I have decided to use this one sent to me by my buddy, the incredible Stacey Naito Ifbb Pro. Stacey Naito Ifbb ProDoc has been in front of my cameras any number of times. Truly she is amazing!

Those Jamie Eason Bodybuilding.com Ads…
Those Bodybuidling.com ads featuring Jamie Eason in endless numbers of magazines and newspapers and online. Yes! They came from Jamie in front of my cameras.
Muscles Not In The Gym
Just because the hard work is done in the gym, it does not mean we have to do all the photo shoots there. This photo series with Jake Sawyer is available for magazine editorial features and advertising. Check with me to see more. And also if you would also like to talk about other photo shoots. Thanks!
Art & Tennis
I was at the Indian Wells Art Festival yesterday at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. And guess what people do there… Well they play tennis! Very fun!
Supermarine Mk XIV Spitfire
A Supermarine Mk XIV Spitfire starting up and going out to do a fly by at the Palm Springs Air Museum yesterday. The British fighter made famous in the Battle Of Britain in World War II, this specific plane carries the paint scheme of the Indian Air Force. It’s supercharged engine at over 2000 horsepower drove it though the air at 450 miles per hour.
A Spitfire Mk XI in a flight on April 27, 1944 made the true airspeed of 606 mph in a dive. The propeller broke off, the pilot blacked out as the plane reached 11 g’s and when he regained consciousness he found himself at 40,000 feet with the wings swept back at an angle.
On February 5, 1952 another pilot flying out of Hong Kong took a Spitfire 19 to 51,550 feet. He ended up in an uncontrolled dive recovering below 3000 feet. Flight data showed he had reached 690 mph, Mach .96, which is the fastest flight ever recorded for a propeller driven aircraft.

I Am Always Wary Of Pickpockets!
I am always wary of pickpockets! On a Route 66 photo excursion on the grounds of the Goffs Schoolhouse in the East Mojave Desert. Part of the Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association.
Phase One Camera Roll Out…
Great fun yesterday trying out the Phase One IQ250 Camera. This will be more of interest to my photographer friends here, but… The IQ250 is the first CMOS sensor version for medium format and at 50 megapixels. I did this photograph with available light at iso 3200 and it is great.
This workshop was sponsored by Samy’s Camera, Phase One, Profoto USA lighting and Eizo monitors. Astounding equipment, that I use, and as well Samy’s Camera puts on great events! I even won a Samy’s $150 gift card in the random drawing!
Be A Part Of My Art…
I am going to go out on a limb here and say I Love Art too! I am going to be making more of my art and making some plans. It could involve some of you in front of my cameras. If you might be interested, please subscribe to my Blog here. There will be details you might not be seeing anywhere else.
By the way, this was photographed on a photo excursion I did on Route 66 in California between Amboy and Needles.
Team Kim Oddo Welcomes You To the NPC Grand Prix!
My photograph of Xavisus Gayden Ifbb Pro is the one inviting you by Team Kim Oddo to Jon Lindsay’s NPC Grand Prix in Culver City on April 12th. Stand on stage and go and have fun! And don’t forget to send me a note about being in front of my cameras. Maybe it is time!
“Come Sit Right Here”- She Said…
I remember very distinctly what Maria Bertrand said to me when I was shooting this photograph. “Come sit right here next to me and we will talk about that bicycle ride I promised you” she said. Yes that was it, I remember!
Starting At The Bottom With Marilyn Monroe…
I guess if you have to disassemble a 26 foot tall stainless steel and aluminum Marilyn Monroe, you best start at the bottom. The process began today after almost two years on display here in Palm Springs. A truly whimsical sculpture, it is one of the most famous images of Marilyn Monroe, from 1955 movie “The Seven Year Itch”. It will be on the way tomorrow to New Jersey for a showing of the works of the artist, Seward Johnson. Hopefully afterwards to return to Palm Springs as the permanent home of “Forever Marilyn”.
