On To The Olympia And Arnold

He has gone on to stand on the stage of the prestigious Olympia and the Arnold Classic. Xavisus Gayden actually was first seen in bodybuilding magazines from a photo shoot he had with me at Palm Springs Fitness Center a few years back. Now a star in Men’s Physique, he is also to be saluted for being a United States Marine. Outstanding!

I must say that I am very proud and honored to be a part of the Palm Springs Air Museum. Not only do I do their photography and video, I also manage their Social Media and special projects. Occasionally I have been known to polish an airplane too! It’s all fun! Thanks!

Thank You Mercury News Newspaper for selecting us as their top pick of the five California museums that “belong on your must-see list”!

That along with CNN selecting us as one of the top aviation museums in the Entire World (not just the USA!) is pretty great! Thanks! Check it out at https://goo.gl/Ddv1uD

Deadlifts With Ava Cowan

An outstanding workout series I photographed over a few days with IFBB Figure Professional Ava Cowan. “Professional” for sure when it comes to Ava!

And be sure to “Like” the Facebook page for our gym shoot location Palm Springs Fitness Center, my favorite gym and to keep up with my posting over there as Social Media Manager. It helps me a lot and I promise to make it fun! Thanks!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Deadlifts done right with IFBB Professional Figure Competitor Ava Cowan…

Preparation:

With feet flat beneath bar, squat down and grasp bar with shoulder width or slightly wider overhand or mixed grip. Start with light weight to not only warm up but to determine what you are capable of lifting.

The addition of wrist straps can great improve your ability to perform multiple reps as well as more weight. If no straps are used, a mixed grip is a great way to grip the bar.
Start with 2 sets of 15 reps before moving into working weight.

Execution:

Lift bar by extending hips and knees to full extension, keeping the bar close to the body throughout the movement. Keep your back flat throughout the exercise and pull shoulders back being mindful not to round the shoulders. Also, keep knees pointing the same direction as your feet. Return and repeat.

The simplified version of the muscles used are:

The grip strength (finger flexors) and the lower back (erector spinae) work isometrically to keep the bar held in the hands and to keep the spine from rounding.

The gluteus maximus and hamstrings work to extend the hip joint.

The quadriceps work to extend the knee joint.

The adductor magnus works to stabilize the legs.

Core musculature remains braced to stabilize the spine.

Lesley Zerebny Memorial Softball Game

The Palm Springs Air Museum was honored to have opened the Lesley Zerebny Memorial Softball Game at sunset last night, Sunday at Big League Dreams Sports Park with a flyby of our World War II C-47 “What’s Up Doc”. I was there to photograph the moment.

The annual Police and Firefighters game was renamed to honor the two fallen Palm Springs Police Officers from last year, Lesley Zerebny and Jose Gilbert Vega, with the proceeds going to the Palm Springs Police Officer’s Memorial Fund. We are very Thankful to have been there to pay our respects.

They Lost 70 Pounds

Another fun video segment I did for Palm Springs Fitness Center. I love telling these real stories with real people on their fitness journey.

No Bra Day

You may have missed the shout out, Friday October 13th was National No Bra Day!

Ok yes very fun! But actually on this day, millions of women go no bra to promote breast cancer awareness.

From my photo shoot with model Severine. Makeup and hairstyling by the incredible Blanche LeBeau.

A Boot In The Butt

A great fun video interview for the Palm Springs Air Museum….

“…put it in afterburner and it really gives you a boot in the butt!” We could go through the sound barrier any time we wanted to, and farmers would complain a little bit. We did it plenty!” – Al Dempsey

Scared Away

Got there just in time to scare off the ghost before he or she drove away. Photo excursion this morning in Joshua Tree National Park.

From The Cockpit

Yesterday morning in the Palm Springs Air Museum, World War II C-47 “What’s Up Doc?”. Headed out through Banning Pass over the wind farms headed to Brackett Field in La Verne. Great fun flying in this big bird that actually flew in the Berlin Airlift. “Like” the Air Museum Facebook page to watch for when you can fly with us too! Thanks!

Love Doing These Videos!

I really enjoy doing these videos for Palm Springs Fitness Center. Faith has had two strokes and was told best for her to get to a gym to workout because she needed a place that had equipment. Then she started working out with her trainer Howard. Perfect! Take a moment to watch, it really is a great story! Thanks!

Words Fail Me

From one of my photo shoots with my buddy Ashley Owens-Gulina. Good thing I have photos because words fail me. Maybe perhaps “magnificent” and “gorgeous”. Makeup and Hair Styling by another magnificent and gorgeous woman… Natalie Lyle.

Squirt VIII

When I get to do these interviews about people and these aircraft, it is a great discovery experience for me too!

Learn about the Palm Springs Air Museum P-47 Thunderbolt “Squirt VIII” with European Hangar Chief Tony Aidukas and then come in tomorrow Saturday, October 7th, and sit in the pilot’s seat yourself! Now that is a great thing to do for a selfie! We have “Open Cockpit” with different aircraft on Saturdays from 10:30 – 12:30. Great Fun! Thanks!

225 Done Right

225 pounds or 65 pounds, it’s all a matter of doing it right. Anu Mcknight with great form doing incline bench press during our photo shoot at Palm Springs Fitness Center.

His back end solid on the seat, feet planted flat, shoulders and head back. Hands well spaced to make the exercise work the chest and not too close together activating the triceps. Bring the bar straight down to just above the center line of your chest and then back up, not locking out your elbows. Slow, easy and repeat. If you are only moving it in a partial range, too heavy, lighten up.

Triceps Push Downs

From one of my photo shoots. It may have been the first time Angela D Segovia had been published in a magazine. Great fun! At Palm Springs Fitness Center.

I think Fitness Model Angela Segovia looks really good doing triceps during our photo shoot! What do you think?

Fun For Us Big Kids Too!

Fun for us big kids too! Yesterday at the Palm Springs Air Museum, our T-28 Trojan undergoing an engine check following it’s annual inspection. An interesting look without the cowling covering it’s operation and sound. Also a very fun extra surprise for 37 school children touring here at the Air Museum yesterday.
