“Renee Kissing The Egg” now the main attraction on their latest version of trade show booth at this weekend’s Anaheim FitExpo. It is also roll- up banners, the product brochure and has been their van wrap. This photograph for Egg Whites International is now in it’s second decade. How fun is that!
At the Iron Man Naturally Championships yesterday at the FitExpo Anaheim. An extraordinarily striking Jessica Lopez at her first show. Winning 1st Place in both Bikini Open Novice Class B and Bikini Class B. Actually I had no doubt about it during judging which is why I made sure I shot some photographs of her. Outstanding!

I had been looking for a good looking guy to cast for a very sexy fashion editorial type shoot with a top professional woman model. So I sent her a photo of John Black after our photo shoot yesterday to see what she thought of him. The answer… “Holy Hell! Andddd when does he want to shoot? :)”. That is just too good!
That was my first time shooting with John. I expect there will be more. By the way, he is 6ft-2 and 23 years old, in case you wanted to know. He has been represented by an agency and has actually been doing good with print work, commercials and runway. Our photo shoot was in my pool in Palm Springs. The news reports from the huge Bluecut Fire are nothing but sad. Also sad is the loss of the Summit Inn, a roadside Route 66 stop with it’s roots going back to 1928. Myself and friends stopped there just back in November on one of our photo excursions. Reminds me to get out and see more of the world, even when it is close by.
Billboards in Las Vegas and full page ads in Vogue are where you have seen Shawn Towne. But I put her to bed, at least in front of my cameras. And that was in Las Vegas too. “Chris Burden’s Metropolis II is an intense kinetic sculpture, modeled after a fast paced, frenetic modern city. Steel beams form an eclectic grid interwoven with an elaborate system of 18 roadways, including one six lane freeway, and HO scale train tracks. Miniature cars speed through the city at 240 scale miles per hour; every hour, the equivalent of approximately 100,000 cars circulate through the dense network of buildings. According to Burden, “The noise, the continuous flow of the trains, and the speeding toy cars produce in the viewer the stress of living in a dynamic, active and bustling 21st century city.”

The artist in this painting duplicated the light he saw, used it to set the scene and made it highlight where he wanted to draw your gaze and attention. Just brilliant. Not unlike photography. The other day at the Huntington Library in San Marino CA.

A day shooting with Catherine Kwong for her portfolio took us to a number of wardrobe changes, all wonderful. I was and remain so consistently impressed with this woman, model and actress. And then she came out dressed in this and I just sighed. Oh my, so sexy, took my breath away. Maybe I shouldn’t say that, but I can, I am a professional!
The people I photograph take on a different look to me through the viewfinder. The camera changes things. And when it is so gorgeous or perfect, I have a tendency to let a little laugh. Models, who do not know me, are usually a little taken back, not sure what to make of it. They usually turn to Natalie Lyle my makeup artist, as Catherine did, and whisper “What does that mean?” ” Is that good?”. I sometimes don’t let on the I heard them, but Natalie just puts them at ease and says “That is really good”.
Catherine Kwong was amazing in this photo shoot and I am really disappointed in her for that. Because she made more work for me. I shot more photographs during our shoot than I have ever shot of any one person in a photo shoot ever before. Just last night she asked me, “Are you seeing images of me in your nightmares?”. Yes I do and I have no regrets!
