Fitness Journey
A thought from IFBB Professional figure competitor and fitness icon Ava Cowan from her magazine photo shoot at Palm Springs Fitness Center…
– The feeling of contentment to me is one of the most satisfying feelings in life. I can usually feel this to be present when I have arrived at and have become a higher version of myself, within my life’s journey, and fitness is a part of that journey.
– I thought to look up the definition. And after combing through several variations of the definition, this is a portion of one that resonated with me the most.
“Contentment is a mental or emotional state of satisfaction maybe drawn from being at ease in one’s situation, body and mind. Colloquially speaking, contentment could be a state of having accepted one’s situation and is a milder and more tentative form of happiness.”
– When I looked at this photograph last night, that is the exact emotion I see emitting through my eyes. I absolutely looked past the weight training aspect of the image. A moment in time and there I was… content.
– Contentment on my fitness journey in life captured in the moment.
Daffy At War…
This is really a wonderful fun exhibit at the Palm Springs Air Museum. I know, I got to photograph many of the pieces for the commercials and ads and magazine features. Tonight (Friday at 6) is the reception. So come on out and join me for it! Here are the details…
– Many of us as children grew up watching Daffy Duck, Donald Duck, Tom and Jerry, and the rest of the Warner Brothers, MGM and Walt Disney cartoons. These fond memories stay with us as adults. But how many of us now know that these children’s cartoon characters played an integral role in boosting morale during World War II? You can see your beloved cartoon characters in a new exciting exhibit here at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
– For an in-depth look at the exhibit, join us in welcoming the two owners of the collections that make up Wartime Designs: the Insignia Art of World War II. Tonight Friday, December 1 at 6 PM, a reception Meet and Greet about this exhibit takes place inside the Pacific Hangar at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
– This is really a wonderful and incredible exhibit that you will truly want to experience, and learning more about it from those who have brought it to us adds so much more dimension!
– Tickets are $15 for Air Museum members and $20 for non-members paid in advance. Tickets at the door are $25. To RSVP, call Carol at (760) 482-1836. Thank You!
The Best Part…
The best part of doing these short videos for Palm Springs Fitness Center is meeting and chatting with these wonderful people who are on their fitness journey. Doing squats with Gabriella and her gym trainer Lisa…
Love Doing These!
Have I mentioned that I love doing these short videos for Palm Springs Fitness Center? Maybe I have but I really do, they are so fun and worthwhile. Spend a few moments. Thanks!

For A 102 Year Old Veteran
Yes it is great fun to be flying with the Palm Springs Air Museum as the photographer and doing the social media. But getting to share doing something for all the right reasons is really special. A flyover for the 102nd birthday of a World War II Veteran and POW. More info below…
On the way to do a flyby to celebrate the 102nd birthday of Veteran Mike Kovich in Desert Hot Springs last Saturday. Mike was a top gunner in a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber in World War II. On the very first mission to bomb Berlin his plane was shot down and he was captured. He spent 13 months as a POW. Very exciting for us to be able to fly on by with our P-51 Mustang “Bunny” and our T-28 Trojan! Thank You to VFW Post 1534 for sharing Mike’s birthday with us! Visit with Mike in his interview with KESQ News here at https://goo.gl/yZVW2c Thanks!

Super fun when I get to do a photo shoot with people from all the way around the globe. Raechelle Chase for New Zealand Fitness Magazine at Palm Springs Fitness Center.
The “Bunny” View
“Bunny” is the World War II P-51 Mustang fighter. Here dedicated to the famed Tuskegee Airmen and specifically to a true American Hero, Lt. Col. Bob Friend. I had the opportunity on Veterans Day to fly in the World War II B-25 Mitchell bomber “Executive Sweet” with “Bunny” for a commemorative flyby over the Glamis Sand Dunes just South of the Salton Sea. This video over the sand dunes as we flew back to the Palm Springs Air Museum. So very fun! And you can fly too…
Next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17th – 19th, you can fly in this B-25 bomber! You will get to check it out in the air from the tail to the gun positions and gun turret and right to where I was in the nose. How cool is that! A better flight for $425 does not exist! Out of the Palm Springs Air Museum, call 805-377-2106 for info and to reserve your flight! You will Thank me many times over!
Flying In A B-25

You can catch a ride in “Execute Sweet”, this B-25 Mitchell Bomber too. Sit in the nose and take in the incredible view like nowhere else. Check out the gun turret and gun stations in the back while you are flying. Watch from right behind the pilots seats and imagine what it was like during the War. A better ride for $425 cannot be had ever! Call 805-377-2106 for more info and to make a reservation. At the Palm Springs Air Museum this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17th – 19th. Great fun!
Cable Crossovers With Ava Cowan
Cable Crossovers with IFBB Pro Figure competitor Ava Cowan at Palm Springs Fitness Center for her workout series magazine photo shoot with me. Thanks!
Ava Cowan…
– One of my favorite ways to train chest. Especially on a Free Motion Machine because of the ability to use a much lighter weight than on a traditional cable machine. Light weight may be a preference on a decline chest press for women for a variety of reasons. Ordinarily, there isn’t a huge emphasis on the decline portion of chest training. But keep in mind that balance and symmetry are key so simply adjust the weight accordingly, and add a few sets in.
– Intermediate and Advanced: It’s an epic exercise for all levels of lifters. I absolutely encouraged you to raise and lower the cables incrementally in order to hit every single angle of the pecs.”
– Favorite Features: There is also the ability to control the movement, speed and angle on a cable machine makes it one of my favorites.
New to your fitness journey or maybe stuck along the way? Check in with one of our trainers. We are all here to be part of that journey with you! Thanks!
Remember Those Airplane Models
Remember when you were a kid like me building those plastic model airplanes. Now we are old enough to fly in the real ones or at least see them close up. The Palm Springs Air Museum is where you will find me and get the chance to fly too, for tomorrow Veterans Day. Check it out…
Your flight is warming up! Get on board for a flight, Saturday Veterans Day, in this World War II B-25 Mitchell Bomber! Once you are in the air you will get to check out everything from the bombardier seat in the nose to the gun turret and even looking over the pilot’s shoulder. Sure beats sitting in some economy seat on your least favorite airline with a better spent only $425 to kept it fueled and mission ready! Call 805-377-2106 (please leave a message and you will be called right back). You can also fly on Sunday and next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What a great opportunity!
For Veterans Day right here at the Air Museum, flight demonstrations going on all day. You will see our P-51 Mustang ‘Bunny” in the air along with our C-47 “What’s Up Doc”? and our T-28 Trojan. There will be a special appearance by a flight of six T-34 trainers too. You can also fly in a World War II Stearman Biplane trainer for only $175!
Not to be missed! With us will be a very very special guest… Tuskegee Airmen Lt. Col. Bob Friend. A wonderful opportunity to meet and shake the hand of this true American Hero.

Also we are dedicating our newly finished Grumman F9F Panther which was the Navy’s first successful carrier based jet fighter. For that honor we will have with us another very special guest, a man who has been called “The Forgotten Hero”, Capt E. Royce Williams! On November 18th, 1952, then Lt. Williams in a carrier based engagement of the Korean War shot down four MiG-15s. Forty years later it was revealed that all four were flown by Soviet pilots.
There will be food and birthday cake celebrating the Museum’s 21st Anniversary. So much fun going on! You can reserve your flights on the Stearman Bi Plane trainer by calling us at 760-778-6262 and for the B-25 at 805-377-2106.
Yes you can just come on in and get your flight on either the B-25 and/or Stearman. However there might be a wait for the next available seat. There are only so many seats per flight. So again try to make your phone reservations but come on in no matter what! You will be happy you did! Thanks!

Chest Fly’s And Crush Press
Another workout video with some good points that I shot for Palm Springs Fitness Center with trainer Dan Partridge. Thanks!
About “good form” in doing exercises… “… the reason I have a job”. “We want to make sure that when you come in here that you are doing the exercises not only to better yourself but to make sure you are doing it properly…” – Dan Partridge
War Bird Flyover
Shooting video from the backseat of the Palm Springs Air Museum T-28 Trojan. Very Fun!
On the way last Saturday morning for a flyover at Veterans Memorial Park in Coachella. Our C-47 “What’s Up Doc?”, our P-51 Mustang “Bunny” and from the Commemorative Air Force in Camarillo, an F6F Hellcat.
Lots more flying coming up at the Air Museum on Veterans Day Nov 11th and for the Craft Beer Festival “Props & Hops” on Nov 18th. Check it all out at the Museum Events page at https://goo.gl/oFKfQN
Posing Interlude
A few moments of posing interlude with Kajira during our photo shoot. The photo shoot itself done with Broncolor lighting and a Hasselblad digital camera system. The video with a Fujifilm X-T1 camera.
Flying The NF-104
It is really fun getting to do these video tours of aircraft for the Palm Springs Air Museum. I personally learn so very much and get to chat with these incredible people! You must watch this one!
Imagine what it was like as here USAF Colonel (ret) Bob Lilac tells us about the real crash of Chuck Yeager in the NF-104 as depicted in the movie “The Right Stuff”. And then about Bob’s own flight in what he describes as “basically a bullet” “riding on this 6,000 pound thrust rocket”!
Lat Variations
Simple training video clips I have fun doing for Palm Springs Fitness Center. Thanks!
A variation of the Lat Pulldown with trainer Dan Partridge. Making your time better spent in the gym with muscle time under tension. Much better than time under tension in a lot of things we do!
Radial Engine Concert
To many, the sound of radial engines is a concert! The other day at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Doing a run up on “What’s Up Doc?”, our World War II C-47. The props just came back from being balanced and re-installed. You just can’t get enough of those radial engines!
