I always have problems getting the softbox together. Lucky for me my model Amber Flowers knew exactly what to do with it. Shot on Hasselblad digital and Broncolor lighting.
I watched the replay of the livestream of the Fashion Week El Paseo 2018 Finale. The Ralph Rucci Collection, I was totally impressed, the best ever for Fashion Week. An incredible collection of clothes, wonderful and fabulous models, tremendous presentation! But then…
You have to pay attention to details or it all becomes a second rate production. A giant restrooms sign… are you kidding me!
By the way, some of you have heard me say; when a fashion lifestyle magazine finally actually manages to have the courage to show nipples, they are actually moving in to today. The used to be very boring Palm Springs Life Magazine has actually done it now and then, getting there.
The scenic road along Mulholland Drive made much more scenic by Maria Bertrand. From our photo shoot. The dress, so flawlessly woven into the tree by Maria, GUESS by Marciano. Photographed on Hasselblad digital.
Yes what I get to do is great fun! I am in one airplane, a T-28 Trojan shooting the video of this P-40 Warhawk. The purpose actually is to create “content”, the photographs, videos and features showing the excitement and fun of the Palm Springs Air Museum. “One of the best Air Museums in the World” – CNN. Thanks!
Just last week the Bombay Beach Biennale 2018 was a great success with art installations and ballet and opera and fun. Sadly I missed it with flying duties at the Palm Springs Air Museum. However I have been doing my own art installations at Bombay Beach and around the Salton Sea for a number of years.
Bombay Beach boating fashion with model Xtine. Eco-friendly, everything we packed in we packed out. And we walked away with our Art created with a camera. The Art created by Xtine, myself, a Hasselblad digital camera system and Broncolor lighting.
Many installations of the Bombay Beach Biennale 2018, such as the the Opera House, The Hermitage Museum, Drive-In Theater, The Institute, Angler Grove, and Nine, have become permanent gifts to the town. I will certainly be going back out to take a look. Go visit and also remember that the Salton Sea is one of the most environmentally important places in the country and must be protected. Thank You!
Not your typical behind the scenes setup, except maybe for me. Shooting the board of directors for the Palm Springs Air Museum in front of two aircraft, showing both fully and the sign on the hangar. Two rows of 19 people sitting and standing. And very simply it came out perfect. Will show the final photograph when it is released. Could not be happier with the results!
Lighting was the Broncolor 1200L Move, Broncolor Para 133 and a Broncolor Octabox for some fill. Had to balance it all out with the Sun in and out of some overcast, low behind me to my right. Camera was a Hasselblad H4D-40 with the Hasselblad HC 50mm lens.
Everything was all set up and ready to go before anyone got there. I shot 12 frames in succession in no more than two minutes.
I am honored to write the feature and shoot the photographs..
Our 2018 Annual Gala was a huge success! Special guest, Motion Picture “Top Gun” Commander “Viper” Tom Skerritt punctuated the evening as we honored our Heroes among us.
Our World War II PBY Catalina “Harriet’s Chariot” was dramatically presented in lighting and staging allowing us to announce the beginning of it’s restoration to it’s status of being such a very historic aircraft and part of our Living History here at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

The precision of the United States Navy Blue Angels even just coming back to the flightline is amazing! At the Naval Air Facility El Centro Airshow this past Saturday. With the Palm Springs Air Museum, we were very happy to have been part of it with our own aircraft too! Thanks!
Inspired by the Blue Angels at NAF El Centro, we decided to do our own formation flying on the way back to the Palm Springs Air Museum. Over the Salton Sea.
The Palm Springs Air Museum took four aircraft to the NAF El Centro Airshow this past weekend. These are not them. Took me along too. Good thing I brought a camera (or two)!
The United States Navy Blue Angels! At their opening demonstration for their 2018 flying season. We were very honored to bring our own aircraft to the Naval Air Facility El Centro for this exciting Air Show! And just as excited to bring you a look at our experience in photos and video. Thanks!
I really do get to do some fun things with the Palm Springs Air Museum! Like fly in warbirds to airshows and then shoot photos and video!
Clear To Taxi! The Blue Angels head on out for their season opening flight demonstration yesterday at NAF El Centro. Truly an overwhelming and incredible display of powerful aircraft and piloting skill.
We travel to airshows with a fleet of our own incredible aircraft to share the Palm Springs Air Museum with those who have not visited with us here at what is “One of the best Air Museums in the World!”.
This being the photographer and social media manager at the Palm Springs Air Museum is too much fun!
The 150th Canadian Anniversary Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet arrived yesterday. This very special aircraft will be with us all day Saturday March 3rd for you to view along with the opportunity to meet it’s pilot, Major Erick O’Connor.
“This incredible Canada 150 CF-18 Hornet is a shining example of the teamwork and professionalism that is embodied by the men and women of the RCAF,” said Major-General Christian Drouin, Commander, 1 Canadian Air Division/Canadian NORAD Region, “and is just one of the many ways that the men and women of the RCAF are working to honour their rich heritage, and commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada.”
The CF-18 Hornet will be departing on Sunday March 4th at approximately 2:00pm.
The Arnold Sports Festival 2018 in Columbus OH is underway and the huge Expo is about to open tomorrow Friday. Hundreds of thousands of people will fill the convention center among 1000 booths from fitness related companies. Although I am not there, my photographs fill some of those booths and displays.
My all time favorite and longest running… Renee kissing the egg for Egg Whites International. They just set up their booth and if they had tried to shoot a photograph of it tomorrow you never would have seen because of all of the people around it. If you just count all of the people who have seen this display at Arnold Sports Festivals in Columbus Ohio, it would be millions.
The Arnold Sports Festival, most known for it roots as a premier bodybuilding competition is actually 20,000 athletes participating in 75 sports and events from 80 nations around the world. “We are very proud to provide the opportunity for athletes, a majority of them youth, to compete at the largest multi-sport festival in the world.”
This is pretty exciting so I have to share! And I must say it is sometimes really cool being the photographer for the Palm Springs Air Museum!
Arriving approximately 3:30pm on Friday March 2nd right on our ramp! The 150th Canadian Anniversary Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet. Now this is exciting!

Also on Saturday we have “Open Cockpit”, two programs, a flight demonstration with the De Havilland Beaver – Pride Of The Bush Pilots and even entertainment from 12 – 1 with our own Palm Springs Air Museum Bagpipe Band!
The CF-18 Hornet will be departing on Sunday March 4th. However we do not have a specific time for that as of now.
Also through the weekend, we will have flights available on our own World War II Paratrooper C-47 and our P-51 Mustang “Bunny”. Call 760-778-6262 for more info. Thanks!
Kind of funny that people expect that because I typically am not interested in doing gallery shows that my work is not seen. More people have seen my photography in a month than most will be seen in their entire lifetime.
From bodybuilding and fitness to fashion and now aviation, my photographs have been in ads and magazine features, major newspapers, motion pictures, news broadcasts, brochures and billboards around the world.
This one is among my latest, a full wall size backlit display for the Palm Springs Air Museum at the Palm Springs International Airport. A few million people in a year will see this one. Thanks!
There are those who know how to captivate the camera. You look through the viewfinder and as they move hit the pose, you slightly gasp in awe and press the shutter button. Such is Maria Bertrand.
Makeup and Hair Styling by the incredibly talented Blanche LeBeau. Hasselblad digital camera system and Broncolor lighting. Always the best! Thanks!
“Emotion” – I just don’t know which one. From an incredibly fun photo shoot with model Severine. Superb Makeup and Styling with the stellar Blanche LeBeau.
Photo shoot notes… Hasselblad digital camera system and Broncolor lighting. Only the best! Thanks!
I have been busy over the last few days. Here is the “Ale Plane” visiting at the Palm Springs Air Museum for the Hop Growers Of America Convention. A jet just like this one was in the James Bond movie “Octopussy“! And the serial number on this one is “007”! Top speed is 320mph, empty it weighs 435 lbs. Sponsored by Virgil Gamache Farms. Let’s raise a beer to that!
Hasselblad, my favorite camera system for much of my work. One of the reasons is that I am a huge fan of the history of the cameras having been there for some of the most iconic photographs ever created from fashion to going into Outer Space and to the Moon. I do collect the Hasselblad publications which are unique and filled with their features of photographers from around the world.
So very excited to have had the opportunity to photograph Nova who was a model in one of the “Victor By Hasselblad” editions. A very creative model and visual artist. Perhaps unusual for her to be the one being asked for an autograph. Thank You Nova!
Amber Flowers, fashion nude in our photo shoot. Through the glass this time, I love doing these videos! “Thrift Shop Fashion” styled by Amber herself and so very outstanding.
