My New Shelter Watch Dog
Got this guy at the shelter on Friday. They said he would make a great watch dog. But he doesn’t seem to bark at all. Also not interesting in playing ball. Oh well, we will see how he does at puppy class.
Actually a small part of a mural in Twentynine Palms photographed on a day long photo excursion. “This trompe l’oeil mural tells a story about an artist who fell asleep while painting a mural. Manifested from the artist dreaming about Cattle Days in Hidden Valley, a rodeo bull named Valentine is metamorphosed into reality next to the scaffolding. Named for the white heart shape on his head, Valentine also bears the McHaney gang brand, as if he traveled out of the historical scene in the mural. Waiting for the artist to awake, along with a patient vulture, Valentine will soon have his day.” “Valentine’s Day” by John Pugh.
Do I Know How To Treat My Models On My Photo Shoots Or What!
Sasha Brown staying on her competition diet on her photo shoot with me at Salton Sea.
Her Sexy And Focused Dark Warrior!
Her Dark Warrior, an alter ego which is really her true tenacity and focus and oh so very sexy. Stacey Naito from our photo shoot. Only better when you see this photograph, by clicking on it, full screen on my Website.
A big Thank You to Blanche LeBeau for the transforming Makeup and Hair Styling. And another big Thank You to my friend and photographer Jaime Klein for hosting us at his studio. And a huge Thank You to Stacey Naito for being so incredible in front of my cameras!
Check Out That Bicep!
When I look at this photograph I shot of Cortney CortCity Solomon the first thing I see is that big happy smile and those eyes, and then I have to smile. Then I check out the ink up and down her back, and it makes me kind of laugh, it is so fun! But then my eyes swing to the right and… Check Out That Bicep! Working out hard in the gym and having fun!
A big Thank You to Natalie Lyle for another day of great Makeup and Hair Styling. And a big Thank You to the Power Of Fitness gym in Palm Desert. You can work it out there for sure!
Raechelle In The Gym
Earlier in the week I showed you one of our desert wind farm photographs of Raechelle Chase from New Zealand. We also shot in the gym. But I would rather look at Raechelle Chase than the gym so here is one photograph from our shoot that I like a lot. Thanks!
Action! Ok Not That Much…
An action shot behind the scenes! Ok not that much action right there anyway. Our photo shoot with Cortney CortCity Solomon actually was more fun than I can tell you. Also on hand we had Natalie Lyle doing the Makeup and Hair Styling and my assistant Clyde Sawyer. A great gym to shoot in and actually workout too, Power Of Fitness in Palm Desert CA. More photos to come very shortly but you can see one here on my Blog and you really want to! https://secondfocus.wordpress.com/2014/04/15/live-the-life-you-have/
Want to be in my photo shoots or talk about shooting your advertising or magazine work. Send me a note here to my e-mail to SecondFocus@mac.com. Let’s talk about it! Thanks!
My Favorite Body Part To Look At…
I Love Selfies! And I love great bodies and if you were to ask the Makeup Artists I have worked with what my favorite body part is… they would tell you FACES! And Tani Correia is just all of it! She has been published in fitness magazines, competes in Bikini in the WBFF, been featured on FTNS Fitness Radio, and is a contributed to LiveFitter.com. When Tani sent me this selfie I know it was the one I wanted to share. But go visit her Facebook page and uhhhh, check out the rest of her! You will be happy you did! And we will be seeing about her being in front of my cameras soon!
I invite you to send me your selfies and I will show you off here on my Blog and on my Facebook pages. Girls and guys, whatever you want to send. In the gym, showing off the hard work you have put in, at the pool, just having fun. Anything a little too edgy for Facebook will go on my Blog and I will safely share it on Facebook. You don’t have to have ever done a photo shoot with me or even met me in person. It will also be a great way for me to see you and talk about photo shoots. Let’s do this, it’s all fun!
You must send me the selfie to my e-mail at SecondFocus@mac.com or on Facebook Messenger. I will say that I might have to pick and choose to make it manageable and hold some or change when I decide to post them for one reason or another. Thanks!
A Beautiful Woman, Winds And An Earthquake!
Raechelle Chase Ifbb Pro as the center of the landscape and environment in the wind farms of Palm Springs California. One of my favorite photographs from one of my favorite photo shoots. The incredible striking Raechelle from New Zealand braved 50 mph winds often coming close to knocking her over. We even had a sizable earthquake in the middle of the shoot that we didn’t even feel because of the winds. An experience and photographs to remember!
A Minor 1000
Is this fun or what! A Morris Minor 1000 convertible parked on Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. A British economy car, the Model 1000 saw it’s debut in 1956. I really photographed it with my friend Bob Merlis in mind and his Feral Cars website and Facebook community. He will certainly know much more about it than I do. What a great car to get around at the beach!
Sheer Black!
I love this and clothes that are edgy! I think this would make a great wedding dress LOL! Who wants to come shoot some edgy fashion with me? Send me a note to SecondFocus@mac.com or on Facebook. This was in a store front in Laguna Beach. Window displays can be such fun!
Keep Off
Keep Off! There were a lot of firemen running along the beach and boardwalk yesterday in Laguna Beach. But somehow this was the only lifeguard who caught their attention. I am thinking she really needs that “Keep Off” sign!
Look Closely, Look Very Closely!
Look closely, look very closely! A photograph I shot today at the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach. A miniature reproduction of the original old Laguna Beach Art Gallery. Created by Margaret and Stanley Shepard, sculpted figures by Gail Hinman and the miniature art works signed by Laguna artists. For me, photography lets me explore more of the world, small and large. And I enjoy sharing it with my friends. Thanks!
Emily Made My Day!
Thank You Emily Hayworth for being so gorgeous and fun in front of my camera at the Palm Springs Photo Festival. Actually a borrowed camera, a Phase One IQ250 medium format 50 mpx digital system. It really does shoot beautifully! So Thanks to Morgan Acaldo from Phase One for handing over $40,000 or $50,000 of camera and lens on the spur of the moment! Great camera system, but Emily made my day!
Walk Around With Leica S2 And Nipple Alert!
A wonderful sculpture in front of the Elena Bulatova Gallery in Palm Springs. I did a walk of street photography yesterday with a Leica S2 Medium Format digital camera. For you photography folks out there, it is a 37.5 megapixel camera with the expected optics of Leica lenses. Certainly the most expensive camera I have ever used for street photography coming in at almost $30,000. Part of my week at the Palm Springs Photo Festival.
Nipple alert even on a sculpture, I only felt safe putting a censored version of this photograph on Facebook. Unfortunate because it really is a integral part of this art.
Ann Margret, Douglas Kirkland, Palm Springs Photo Festival
Last night another great program at the Palm Springs Photo Festival. This time a panel discussion including photographer Douglas Kirkland. A man I find especially intriguing because of his overwhelming enthusiasm and excitement even at now 80 years old. Douglas Kirkland has photographed on the sets of over 100 of the most iconic movies, photographed the most famous people on the planet around the world, and been his photo features in endless magazines. His photographs are among the most famous from people like Marilyn Monroe to this wonderful photograph of actress and star Ann Margret.
The Palm Springs Photo Festival is an incredible week long event inclusive of workshops, seminars, presentations, symposiums and parties going from early in the morning to early morning again in the night. In it’s 9th year I have only missed it twice. The first year when I was in Columbus Ohio for the ” Arnold” and only caught the first and last evening parties. And last year when I was in Budapest for 7 weeks, myself shooting on a motion picture.
Who Wants To…
Who wants to schedule to be in front of my cameras. Fitness, bodybuilding, edgy editorial. Let’s talk about it! And you can visit my website by clicking the photograph to see more, please do! Thanks!
The amazing Sherry Goggin in one of my photo shoots. Worked out just fine, don’t you think!
Do You See What I See?
Do you see what I see? Oh wait, that’s a Christmas song, never mind. But what I am seeing is Stacey Naito Ifbb Pro in front of my camera. You get to see the back of my head as well. Behind the scenes from our photo shoot last week.
Guys Want To Look Good Naked Too!
Guys want to look good naked too! David Santapaola has been hitting the gym, not only to look good, but also because it is his part of his chosen career path. From being a United States Marine to his job with a high level specialized security group, if you check out his photos on his Facebook page you will see he is an “action” kind of guy. No balancing on no pastel colored exercise balls in the gym for this guy! Keep It Going!
I invite you to send me your selfies and I will show you off here on my Blog and on my Facebook pages. Girls and guys, whatever you want to send. In the gym, showing off the hard work you have put in, at the pool, just having fun. Anything a little too edgy for Facebook will go on my Blog and I will safely share it here. You don’t have to have ever done a photo shoot with me or even met me in person. It will also be a great way for me to see you and talk about photo shoots. Let’s do this, it’s all fun!
You must send me the selfie as a to my e-mail at SecondFocus@mac.com or as a message on Facebook. I will say that I might have to pick and choose to make it manageable and hold some or change when I decide to post them for one reason or another. Thanks!
One Of Only Three Zero’s Still Flying In The World
One of only three World War II Japanese Zero’s still flying in the entire world. In the skies over the Palm Springs Airport courtesy of the Palm Springs Air Museum earlier today. This Zero, owned and operated by the Commemorative Air Force, was delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Group #3. It originally had an air cooled rotary engine producing 1,130 hp and a top speed of 388 mph at almost 20,000 feet. In today’s flight demonstration you could easily see it’s nimble and powerful maneuverability. I also have video which I will post here in the next day or two. Very Fun! Here is the video I shot of the Zero starting up and heading out to taxi. https://vimeo.com/93085158
Her Dark Warrior!
Her inner strength becomes her Dark Warrior! Stacey Naito, an Ifbb Pro, who has become well known and admired in our sport of bodybuilding and fitness, has always been a huge fan or photography and being a creative force in her own photographs. Not that long ago we channeled her strengths into a unique dark edgy look in our gym photo shoot. Now we have her inner Dark Warrior coming alive! I Love It!
Lots of Thank You’s here! Blanche LeBeau for her Makeup and Hair Styling and matching the ideas with the wardrobe. Jaime Klein, a wonderful photographer himself, for hosting us at his studio. My assistant Clyde Sawyer, for doing the lifting, carrying and driving, all more important than I can tell you. And Dan Cuny of Profoto USA for loaning me one of their new B1 wireless strobes. This was one B1 strobe, sunlight coming in from down a long hallway area, and some overhead “sulphur lights”. And of course the amazing Stacey Naito, who is eternally beautiful. always fun, and built herself one rocking body! Thank You All!
Nope This Was Not The Model!
Nope, Jaime Klein was not my model yesterday. However he did stand in while I was setting up lighting for the photo shoot while my real model was getting ready for our last set up of the day. I have to Thank Jaime for the use of his photo studio yesterday in L.A. This is actually outside of the studio in the back drive up area.
Jaime is as well, a superb photographer specializing in portrait headshots for actors and corporations, law firms and such. If you are in L.A. and looking for a cut above, please visit Jaime. I am not even begin to tell you how long I know this guy!
The lighting I was setting up was a Profoto USA B1 wireless off camera strobe. For my photographer friends, I can tell you that this is one convenient strobe in a small convenient design. One small bag and you are good to go. Battery operated and wireless control from a little touch pad on the top of your camera. Very Cool. So I must Thank my friend Dan Cuny from Profoto for letting me try it out.
You will be seeing a photograph with the real model from this shoot here on my Blog and Website and Facebook tomorrow morning. I can tell you right now, it is nothing what you might be expecting. Very Fun! You will like this one!
Cara Jo Basso At Venice Beach
Cara Jo Basso… One of the most talented, graceful and beautiful women I have ever photographed. At Venice Beach California.
